Parottia Persica Persian Spire - Persian ironwood
Height: 1,2–1,8 m
Persian ironwood Persian Spire is a columnar shrub-tree growing about 2.5 m tall. The bark of older trees peels in patches. Small, inconspicuous flowers appear in March before the leaves. Leaves emerge purple, turn bright green in summer and orange in autumn. Likes a sunny, warm spot and well-structured soil; moderate water needs. Its main value is the stunning autumn colour. Needs little space – a perfect choice for smaller gardens.
